Untitled Broken Dreams
For everyone who brought a talent to Los Angeles and handed it to a system that was never going to catch them.
An object built for arrival and kept after the fact. It stands for the volume of people who bring a talent to Los Angeles and hand it to a system that was never going to catch them.
Concrete and epoxy hold the fracture in place, not as damage but as record, the way a city keeps the shape of everyone it used up.
Acrylic and marker on concrete and epoxy.
Street Spirits is a series of small urban relics, hand-cast in concrete with sculpted epoxy detail and sealed under UV-protective clear coats, each set on a handcrafted base of solid maple or concrete. The series reads Los Angeles as material: construction surfaces, street markings, film-industry residue, the layered noise of a city that keeps overwriting itself. Industrial weight against the warmth of wood. Signals, warnings, distortion, survival, held still long enough to be kept.
