Fragments No. 1
A self that holds together only under tension. Each interruption is load-bearing · the figure stays whole because of how the fractures pull against one another, not despite them.
A figurative work examining identity through fragmentation and interruption.
The central figure is partially disrupted by blocks, marks, and structural elements that interrupt continuity and resist resolution. Rather than forming a complete image, the composition holds together through tension, with each fragment contributing to an unstable whole.
The visual language suggests an attempt to impose structure on something inherently fluid, where control and breakdown exist simultaneously.
The result is a work that balances restraint and disruption, inviting the viewer to engage with what is shown as much as what is withheld.
Executed in mixed media on canvas.
