Broadcast Failure
The city as a broadcast that keeps running past the point anyone is still receiving.
A transmitter after the signal has quit. The piece treats the city as a broadcast that keeps running past the point anyone is still receiving, announcements to an empty channel, instructions no one can act on.
Concrete and epoxy fix the moment the message fails and the medium is all that is left. Structure without transmission.
Acrylic on concrete and epoxy.
Street Spirits is a series of small urban relics, hand-cast in concrete with sculpted epoxy detail and sealed under UV-protective clear coats, each set on a handcrafted base of solid maple or concrete. The series reads Los Angeles as material: construction surfaces, street markings, film-industry residue, the layered noise of a city that keeps overwriting itself. Industrial weight against the warmth of wood. Signals, warnings, distortion, survival, held still long enough to be kept.
