Calibration Error
Identity as a reading the instrument can't hold steady. The figure is half-mapped, half-refusing the grid · a self that resists every attempt to measure it into place.
A figurative work examining the instability between human identity and constructed systems.
The central figure appears partially mapped and partially disrupted, surrounded by an evolving network of symbols, grids, and fragmented markings. These elements suggest an attempt to measure, control, or "calibrate" something that resists definition. The result is a visual tension between structure and breakdown.
Built through layered mark-making and contrasting line densities, the surface reveals itself slowly · shifting between precision and distortion depending on distance.
This piece holds a strong presence in a space, drawing attention both from across the room and up close through its complexity.
